- Anyone in Canada who cannot afford private therapy â no income proof or threshold required.
- Adults (18+) experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, or other mental health challenges.
- People who have tried to access therapy and been turned away due to cost or long public waitlists.
- We are not a crisis service. If you're in immediate danger, please call 9-8-8 or go to your nearest emergency room.
What Happens After You Apply

We receive your application
You'll get an email confirmation within 1â2 business days with next steps and a brief waiver to sign.

You're added to the waitlist
Our waitlist is first-come, first-served. We'll keep you updated on your position and expected timeline.

We match you with a counsellor
When your spot opens, we'll introduce you to a licensed practitioner suited to your needs and preferences.

Ongoing sessions â no limits
You receive regular counselling for as long as you need, fully covered. No surprise bills, ever.

Wait times vary depending on demand and practitioner availability. We aim to keep you informed throughout and match you as quickly as possible. Current estimated wait time is shown on the application form.
Completely free. Access to Therapy is a registered charity and covers 100% of your counselling fees directly. You will never receive a bill.
Both options are available depending on the practitioner and your location. We'll discuss your preference when matching you with a counsellor.
Your comfort is important to us. Reach out and we'll work with you to find a better fit. There's no penalty for requesting a different counsellor.
There are no arbitrary session limits. You receive ongoing counselling for as long as you need it. Access to Therapy is designed to support long-term healing, not a fixed number of sessions.
