JC Haney
Joshua Cecil (JC) Haney is a Métis community advocate, political science student, and the founder of Access to Therapy — a Canadian charity dedicated to removing financial and systemic barriers to mental health care.
A first-generation university student who has been politically active since the age of fourteen, JC created a no-cost counselling model built around the belief that long-term mental health support should be available to everyone, regardless of income or circumstance.
His leadership philosophy is grounded in empathy, honesty, and practical action. In addition to founding the Free Therapy program, JC launched Together — a community initiative designed to combat isolation and build genuine human connection in cities across North America.
JC's long-term goal is to serve in the public sector, continuing to advocate for equitable access to care at a systemic level.
